Ik heb Surinaamse roots en woon en werk als sinds 1998 als fotograaf in het mooie Leiden.

Mijn vader gaf mij als kleine jongen een mooi advies dat mij altijd is bijgebleven: help mensen. Help elkaar, dan komt het goed. Deze levensles vormt nog altijd de basis van mijn werk als fotograaf. Want in feite is dat wat ik doe: ik help mensen aan mooie beelden en blijvende herinneringen. Zo maak ik mensen blij.

Al van jongs af aan ben ik bezig met fotografie. Op mijn twaalfde zag ik voor een eerst een foto tot ontwikkeling komen in een donkere kamer: wauw, ik vond het geweldig! Toen ik zestien was, kreeg ik mijn eerste professionele fotocamera. Dit raakte mij diep in mijn hart. Vanaf dat moment wist ik wat mijn levensmissie was: mensen met unieke beelden een tastbare herinnering geven. Dat is nu meer dan 40 jaar geleden.

A pre-wedding shoot

Would you like photos of your engagement? Do you need a special photo of the two of you together for the invitation? Or do you want to get used to having a camera near you? Then a pre-wedding shoot by a professional wedding photographer is for you!

We can make a great photo shoot at a location of your choice in the weeks or months before the wedding.

And you will receive the edited photos on a USB stick or I can make a nice album of them. The cost of a pre-wedding shoot is € 295.

A unique ‘Nice Weather Guarantee’ in the Netherlands

Even if you get married in the summer, you can never be sure that it will not rain in the Netherlands. This is why I am happy to offer you a Nice Weather Guarantee.

This means:

  • if it rains at the time of the planned photo shoot, we will organize an after-wedding shoot we will do the photo shoot in about two hours in good weather
  • I will arrange for a professional make-up artist and stylist and you’ll come to the chosen location in your wedding outfit
  • you can have the photos in your wedding album or I can make a separate one
  • the Nice Weather Guarantee is valid for weddings in the months of April to October

The Nice Weather Guarantee should be arranged when discussing the booking.

For an extra € 275, you have the certainty of beautiful wedding photos taken on a good day.

Bridal photography abroad: ‘Destination Wedding’

Are you getting married abroad? That will be special! But of course it will entail some extra arrangements, like paperwork and perhaps transport for your guests.

Have you already thought about the wedding photographer? There are advantages to having a wedding photographer travel from the Netherlands to be with you on your special day:

A second shooter

If you decide to have a second shooter, or a second (bridal) photographer, your wedding day will be captured from multiple perspectives.

The bride usually gets ready at a different location from the groom but this happens at the same time.

A lot of precious time is lost if the wedding photographer has to travel from one location to the other.

And the moment when the bride and her father are waiting outside before the ceremony starts and the groom is standing at the altar are special and can both easily be captured if there is a second photographer.

 

With a second shooter you can be sure that every moment will be caught. The advantages are:

 

  • 4 eyes and 4 cameras for 25% more photos
  • different lenses with different perspectives.
  • the second shooter costs a fraction of the cost of the main wedding photographer.

About Henry: wedding photographer with an eye for detail

For me, it all starts with a long conversation because I think it is important for us both that there is a ‘click’. I want to get to know you and understand what your wishes are. What are the important moments? Which group photos do you want? Who or what should absolutely not be missing from the images?

 

On the day itself, I will be present, but in the background. With the necessary humour, I will put people at ease and take pictures all day long. I never look at the clock and won’t leave until your last guests have left.

 

Everything that happens around the most important moments is just as important. A close-up of the dress, the kids’ outfits, the bridal bouquet, the food. I capture all these special details. This creates surprising and special images and completes a wedding photo shoot.

 

If I hear back from the couple that they love the photos I have taken, then my mission has been accomplished!
