Why a white wedding dress?<\/h2> \t\t\t <\/div>\n \t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

When you think of a wedding dress, you soon think of a white, long dress. Why a white wedding dress?<\/p>

But why does white actually?
Only after\u00a01920<\/strong>\u00a0is the white wedding dress in fashion.\u00a0Before then, many brides in black and richer brides often married in bright colors.
It is only from the year\u00a01500<\/strong>\u00a0that the wedding dress comes into view.\u00a0There are several stories about why the wedding dress should be white.<\/p>

Nowadays we think that the color is\u00a0white for the immaculate<\/strong>\u00a0of the bride, or, virgin.\u00a0That is why women who used to marry for the second time were not allowed to wear white again.
The white of the wedding dress symbolizes the\u00a0purity<\/strong>\u00a0of the bride.\u00a0Later, purity was conceived as virginity.\u00a0But times have changed and the idea behind the color of the dress is no longer taken so literally.
Yet most brides still marry in white.\u00a0Within some heavily religious communities purity is meant to be entirely free from sin.\u00a0That is why there is not often married in white within these circles.<\/p>

In China, white is the color of mourning, so\u00a0Chinese women<\/strong>\u00a0almost\u00a0never<\/strong>\u00a0wear\u00a0a white dress<\/strong>\u00a0at their wedding.\u00a0Their preference is for red dresses with gold accents.\u00a0I myself find a red wedding dress very beautiful.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In Hindustani weddings, the bride traditionally marries the\u00a0\u00a0red<\/strong>\u00a0and the groom in yellow.\u00a0Red is the color of Devi, the feminine revelation of the Divine, while yellow is the color of Vishnu, the maintainer of the world.
Red and yellow are also the\u00a0colors of love<\/strong>\u00a0, prosperity and dedication.
They symbolize happiness, life, energy and creativity.<\/p>

For this reason, bride and groom\u00a0traditionally<\/strong>\u00a0wear\u00a0these colors.
However, this is not mandatory.\u00a0From the writings there are no dress codes for the bride and groom.
But nowadays people choose what they want to wear.\u00a0Wedding industry is so diverse.
I have recorded a wedding of a couple of couples who\u00a0did not <\/strong>opt for a white wedding dress<\/p>
